Abstract

This essay sets out different proposals as to the concept of
intelligence that really interest us in the psychological field, and
specially its relationship to learning. Some results are taken up of
an ongoing research. It`s main object is to establish the appearing
conditions and proceedings that are used for the production of
categories (theoretical and documentary) in educational psychology
to show the validity of its basis and the level of the epistemological
strictness. The above mentioned statements include parts of the
analysis of the work written by Alicia Fernández. She is an
important reference as regards educational psychology and has a
great role in the concept of intelligence. As from identifying her
explicit references to other authors who have also defined
intelligence, we pretend to analyze the relation and breaking off
that she shows with the different concepts. The concepts of
intelligence that have relationship with the understanding of the
learning are taken into account, as from an analysis that includes
her conceptual definition, her professional career, her theoretical
disciplinary sources and differences with other views critically set
