Abstract

The present work aims to empirically prove the presence of spatial imbalances in Río Negro on the basis of a quantitative analysis of the data of the National Population and Housing Census 2010. First
of all, it will be given an introduction on the interplay between population and development. Afterwards, the settlement patterns of the population and the household access to basic services
and communications will be analyzed in order to prove the existence of spatial imbalances in Río Negro. The aim of this work is to provide a tool to identify future needs and to contribute to the development of a settlement population policy linked to a provincial development policy.
