Abstract

The study presented explores the social and working conditions of workers in agricultural season in the valley of Copiapó, Atacama region, Chile; with focus on the meanings that women attribute to
the occupation, working conditions and the incidence of this type of work, family and economic organization. Research was conducted from a qualitative look, considering the interpretive paradigm, a single case study through semi-structured interviews. The article reflects on the stories obtained from a gender perspective considered variables such as sexual division of labor, migration and productive / reproductive tensions.
