Teatro Abierto (1981-1983): a social actor in the transition to democracy
Main Article Content
Abstract
Teatro Abierto is a landmark of “cultural resistance” to the dictatorship in Argentina. The cycle that begins in 1981 and extends for three more editions (1982, 1983 and 1985) builds a sort of bridge between the dictatorial and democratic period. This paper will give an account of the conditions of possibility for an event like this occurs with great force under an authoritarian regime, also considering their internal tensions.
