Main Article Content

Abstract

This article analyzes the process of reunification of the Italian community in Buenos
Aires during the second postwar period, starting from the division between those leaders
who supported the fascist regime and those who opposed it. For this it will be necessary
to analyze the interference in the group of the policies adopted by the governments of
Argentina and Italy. Likewise, the decision of the leaders to put aside the political
differences of the past was a determining factor in achieving unity. A comparative study
was carried out of the main associations linked to the General Federation of Italian
Associations of Argentina (FEDITALIA) and the ethnic press, with the aim of
understanding the ideological positioning of their leaders and the role they played in the
"pacification" process.
