Revista del Centro de Estudios en Turismo, Recreación e Interpretación del Patrimonio JA - merope VL - 3 IS - SE - Difusión Científica DO - UR - https://revele.uncoma.edu.ar/index.php/merope/article/view/4261 SP - AB - <p>En los últimos años se ha intensificado la agenda<br>mundial sobre el turismo y el desarrollo sostenible,<br>sobre todo a escasos años de cumplir el plazo<br>de la agenda 2030 de los Objetivos del Milenio.<br>Desde 1995, en la Cumbre de Lanzarote-España,<br>se desarrolló la Conferencia Mundial del Turismo<br>Sostenible (ST), espacio donde se aprueba la<br>Carta Mundial del Turismo Sostenible. En atención<br>a los procesos de avance en materia de turismo<br>responsable, la Organización Mundial del<br>Turismo (OMT) aprueba el Código Ético Mundial<br>para el Turismo en 1999, haciendo énfasis en el<br>turismo accesible y en los derechos humanos<br>universales al disfrute del turismo como factor<br>determinante de calidad de vida.</p><p>El último de los redactores vivos de la Declaración<br>Universal de los Derechos Humanos, el Dr.Stéphane Hessel llama a la insurrección pacífica,<br>a reclamar el derecho a la indignación. Otros<br>intelectuales se suman a las advertencias sobre<br>la trama del desarrollo sostenible y del turismo,<br>identificando unas lógicas contradictorias y hasta<br>temerarias, relacionadas al cuido de la naturaleza,<br>la sociedad y la propia actividad turística.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Abstract<br>In recent years, the world agenda on tourism<br>and sustainable development has intensified,<br>especially just a few years before the deadline<br>for the 2030 agenda of the Millennium Goals.<br>Since 1995, at the Lanzarote-Spain Summit, the<br>World Conference on Sustainable Tourism (ST)<br>was held, a space where the World Charter for<br>Sustainable Tourism was approved. In response<br>to the processes of progress in responsible<br>tourism, the World Tourism Organization<br>(UNWTO) approved the Global Code of Ethics for<br>Tourism in 1999, emphasizing accessible tourism<br>and universal human rights to the enjoyment of<br>tourism as a factor determinant of quality of life.<br>The last of the living drafters of the Universal<br>Declaration of Human Rights, Dr. Stéphane<br>Hessel, calls for peaceful insurrection, to claim the</p><p>right to indignation. Other intellectuals<br>join the warnings about the plot of sustainable<br>development and tourism, identifying<br>contradictory and even reckless logics, related to<br>the care of nature, society and the tourist activity<br>itself.</p> ER -
