This article analyzes the shift produced by Foucault in L'usage des Plaisirs to L'hermenéutique du sujet: the passage from the specific study of the sexual practices towards that of the self-care practices in general. In these texts eros and askesis allow to think about the two great forms of the epistrophé that necessarily should be produced in the subject for his own access to the truth. The aim of this work is to explain these issues as well as the restitution of the notion of epimeleia heautou linked to the interest to re-introduce the spirituality in the reflection on the relations between subjectivity and truth.
